Sex & Nudity

  • Female nudity is seen multiple times, there is also frequent male nudity.
  • Every major actress throughout the series shows at least a little nudity.
  • Graphic nudity. Almost every episode features female nudity at least once.
  • Attempted rape in 2 episodes though not too graphic.
  • Every episode in the first season features nudity
  • Almost all episodes shows nudity
  • Every major female character besides Nola and Devah (because she is a minor) is naked on the show at least once
  • Female full nudity (rear and front) most noticiable the full frontal of Ivana Milicevic , male nudity is rarely seen and just from side or rear.
  • Lots of nudity, masturbation and sex.
  • A man is shown standing nude in a doorway. His genitals are clearly shown for a while. The only instance of graphic male nudity in the series.
  • Almost every season has at least one sex scene with partial nudity. Several different girls are shown having sex with different men in various positions throughout the show. Not too graphic, though.

Violence & Gore

  • Strong, frequent brutal and bloody violence including graphic injuries.
  • Frenetic shootouts, sustained brutal hand-to-hand scenes often resulting in death or disfigurement.
  • Fight scenes often include the use of melee weapons/tools (knives, machetes, hammers, 2x4's, gym weights, garrottes, chains) all with the expected bloody injuries resulting.
  • High body count. Almost every episode features a fight or death(s). Characters are decapitated, dismembered, flogged, burned alive, tortured, and beaten.
  • Likely rating, TV-MA for strong, brutal, bloody violence, gory images, disturbing themes, strong sexual content including graphic nudity, and drug use and reference.
  • Most violence is graphic and realistic, however there is one or two instances of violence per season that borders on cartoonish, usually accompanied by obvious CGI.
  • Several sequences involving gunplay and hand to hand combat. Sometimes, blood can be seen in these scenes.
  • The pilot contained a shootout on a city street, in which a man is chased and shot at, bystanders are shot by the bad guys in the attempt.
  • Another sequence involves a man being shot, the wound is briefly visible.
  • A fight involves a stabbing and several shootings as well as an arm being broken.
  • A fist fight which leads to cuts and bruises.
  • A man has his teeth beaten out of his mouth and then is forced to put them back in. (Offscreen)
  • A man is hit in the head and another is shot.
  • Attempted rape in 2 episodes though not too graphic.

Profanity

  • There is strong language throughout the series - not constantly, but used occasional in most episodes.
  • Regular 'f' words throughout the series. Also other swearing such as 'the 's' word and so on. One use of "cunt" in season 1.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Drinking alcohol and smoking are shown throughout the series. the alcohol ranges from beer to hard spirits (whiskey).
  • Some drug use is shown. Weed and pills are taken by teens in various settings in the first season (occasionally after that). Ecstasy is taken in one episode and there is also an intense overdose scene.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This series is very intense. Strong graphic, brutal, bloody violence through out.
  • This series features many amoral and antisocial characters who often exhibit aberrant and deranged behaviour.
  • The character of Rabbit is a powerful Ukrainian mob boss and sadistic, controlling, vengeful criminal. Almost every scene featuring him is unsettling.
  • The Albino is a sexually abusive, drug addicted prison inmate who intimidates and controls every one in his orbit.
  • Clay Burton is a near-mute, eunuch, asexual, and sociopathic villain. He works as an enforcer and hitman for a crime boss and is basically an unstoppable force. He appears impervious to pain and often suffers PTSD flashbacks to being brutally tortured, presumably by a cult.
  • Scenes involving fight-to-the-death cage matches and prison violence are brutal and savage.
  • Attempted and successful sexual assaults are sometimes featured.
  • Throughout the series, neo-Nazi gang members are featured in the story. They are always depicted as hateful, savage, and despicable. However, one reformed white supremacist is actually shown to be a morally upright and respectful person.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is decapitated by a moving tractor trailer on a highway.
  • A man's head is crushed in a vice. After this, he is barely alive and is struck in the head and killed with a baseball bat. Fairly gory and disturbing.
  • An MMA fighter is shown to secretly be a vicious misogynist and rapist after sexually assaulting and beating a waitress. The main protagonist discovers this and fights the attacker. The protagonist gains the upper hand by allowing the fighter to break his wrist in an attack, ripping his fingers apart until his hand graphically splits apart, breaking his arm behind his back, and punching him in the face until he is bloody. Extremely brutal.
  • A man is chained to a tree and is pulled by a pickup truck until his legs separate from his body. Extremely graphic and visceral. GORY.
  • A man is thrown beneath the wheels of a transport truck and run over. His body explodes into a gory mess. Sudden and graphic but fairly quick and over-the-top.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In season 2, a skinhead kicks a pregnant woman in the stomach causing her to miscarry. Extremely intense and may trigger some people.
  • Scenes involving an incestuous relationship between an uncle and his adult niece could be unsettling.
  • A main character is held captive by military black operatives and psychologically tortured for many months. This is upsetting and disturbing.
  • Rebecca's descent into the violent criminal underworld under the guidance of Proctor could be disturbing for some viewers.
  • A main character's brother is an Aryan Brotherhood shot caller. He is shown to be a brutal, savage, and remorseless killer and torturer. In one instance, he fantasizes about stabbing his boss to death. Later, he actually does viciously assault him.
